Home News Katy News Katy advances at US Open Qualifying

Katy shot a 4 over par round of 75 at Phoenix Country Club today to advance to the final stage of qualifying for the US Women's Open. With the course set up at its full length on most holes and the temperature soaring to 40 degrees, 16 of the 67 players shot rounds of 76 or better to make it through to the next round.

Katy employed good friend and fellow Aussie professional Nick Flanagan as her caddy and the pair combined well to get the job done. "Nick has caddied for me a few times before and we always work well together, he got all my yardages and converted them to metres for me which really took the load off my brain in that heat!" Katy said.

The Sectional Qualifier will be 36 holes and will be held on June 15 in Chicago, Illinois. If successful there, Katy will play in the US Women's Open in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, July 9 -12.

She now heads to Denver for the Colorado Women's Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club May 27 - 29.
