Katy has shot a final round even par 70 today to win the Texas Women's Open in Dallas.

She entered the day 1 shot behind overnight leader Christina Lecuyer of Arkansas, but by day's end she needed only to 2-putt the 18th green for victory over Texan Adrienne McDonald who shot a final round 69.

This is Katy's first ever professional victory which she credits to a new attitude to life and golf. "My main goal today was to enjoy myself. I was open to anything, I was ok with whatever happened, and being able to accept whatever happens is a huge advantage in being able to win a tournament. I'm so happy right now. I played some good golf and really hung in there. But best of all I had an absolute blast being in contention and pulling off a win!"

Katy now has 2 weeks off and will spend some time in Scottsdale with her good friends Pat & Sue before heading to Montreal for the CN Canadian Women's Tour event July 13-15.
